BOONE, N.C. — Bearden graduate Drew Pember put on a show in UNC Asheville's win over Appalachian State on Thursday night.
Pember posted just the 20th triple-double in league history. He scored 11 points, had 15 rebounds and dished out 10 assists.
According to the league, Pember is now one of just 12 players in the nation this season to post a triple-double. This season, the forward is averaging 17.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.0 blocks per game.
Pember is the reigning Big South Player of the Year. He was the first player in conference history to lead the league in scoring, rebounding and blocks in a single season. He was also the first in Big South history to be named the Preseason Player of the Year, Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Tournament MVP in the same campaign.
Out of Bearden, Pember played for Tennessee between 2019 to 2021 before transferring to UNC Asheville.
