KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Dalton Knecht is the SEC Player of the Week for the second week in a row. Knecht earned the honor three times in total so far this season. The fifth-year guard is the first Vol to win in back-to-back weeks since Admiral Schofield in 2018.

Knecht is also the Naismith Trophy Player of the Week, the first Vol to claim this honor since Grant Williams in January 2019.

For the second consecutive week, Knecht has averaged 32 points per game. Against Florida, he notched a career-high 39 points, and he scored 25 in an impressive team victory against Alabama.

The fifth-year guard also averaged six rebounds in both matchups. He shot 48.8% overall, 41.7% from three, and went a perfect 17-17 from the line.

In Tennessee's win over the Gators, Knecht scored the most points in a three-game span for the Vols with 103 since Christ Lofton in 2006.

In that same game, he became the first SEC player to put up back-to-back 35-point performances since Shaquille O'Neal did it for the LSU Tigers in 1991.

Knecht and his No. 5 ranked Tennessee team will continue conference play with an in-state rivalry matchup against Vanderbilt on Saturday, Jan. 27. The game will take place in Memorial Gymnasium at 6 p.m.
