KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Kim Caldwell and the Lady Vol's coaching staff are making recruiting visits more exciting. Earlier this month, Tennessee pulled out all the stops for a big recruiting weekend, and some fast cars were involved.

Grace Knox and Deniya Prawl are class of 2025 blue-chip recruits. Both posted their visits on social media, including photos with an orange and a Summitt Blue Lamborghini.

Senior forward Sara Puckett was shocked when she saw the cars pull up inside Food City Center.

"I was like, 'Oh my gosh,'" said Puckett. "This is great."

Clemson transfer Ruby Whitehorn and veteran forward Jillian Hollingshead both knew who came up with the recruiting tactic right when they saw the cars.

"I would die to be a recruit again," said Whitehorn. "My first thought was Gabe Lazo."

Assistant coach Gabe Lazo had friends in Knoxville bring the cars over for the big recruiting weekend, but initially joked that the Lamborghinis were his.

"Those are my cars, I own both of them," said Lazo. "No, I'm just kidding, but we want to play fast, we want to play with great pace, so what car resembles that more than a Lamborghini?"
