Tennessee's Talaysia Cooper has been selected as the Southeastern Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
On Saturday Cooper helped secure the Lady Vols 109-93 win against the Liberty Eagles, firing in a career-best 33 points, Tennessee Athletics said in a release.
The redshirt sophomore guard has excelled early in her career. Cooper is the only SEC player and only one of seven in the NCAA Division I in the last 23 years to record at least 33 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals ina game while shooting at least 60% on field goals, 50% on three-pointers and 100% on free throws, Tennessee Athletics said in a release.
This week's announcement marks her first-ever SEC Player of the Week recognition.
