KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee third baseman Billy Amick is returning to the starting lineup for this weekend's series against defending national champions LSU, per Tennessee baseball.
Amick has missed the last eight games with an appendix injury. He is hitting .367 and has ten home runs over 25 games.
Amick is a transfer from Clemson who came in as a junior. So far this season he has been named SEC Player of the Week once and was named to the Perfect Game's midseason All-American first team.
He hasn't played since Tennessee's series with SEC foe Ole Miss. In the series finale, he hit a grand slam, a double and had five RBIs.
Whether he starts or not will be determined after batting practice. Game time is at 7:30 p.m.

The Vols are 27-6 this season and 7-5 in SEC play. The Tigers are 22-12 and 3-9 in conference play.
