KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The No. 7 Tennessee Volunteers will face off against the No. 15 Oklahoma Sooners in a couple of weeks in Tennessee's much-anticipated SEC opener.

The Vols announced the game will kick off in Norman, Oklahoma on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 7:30 p.m. EDT.

The game will air on ABC.

The matchup will be a particularly interesting one for Coach Josh Heupel, as Heupel led the Sooners to a national championship during his time as a college quarterback in the 2000 season. He also coached quarterbacks and offense with the Sooners between 2006 and 2014 before he was fired.

For Oklahoma, this will be the team's first SEC matchup since joining the conference with long-time rival Texas.
