TENNESSEE, USA — Tennessee football moved down in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll, going from No. 6 to No. 10 on Sunday afternoon. The new ranking comes following the Vols Saturday night loss against the Georgia Bulldogs.
Tennessee took on Georgia in Athens last night for one of the biggest faceoffs of the season. Georgia took the lead in the third quarter after scoring a touchdown against Tennessee. The team maintained that lead scoring another touchdown in the fourth quarter, pulling ahead for the rest of the game.
The Vols lost to the Bulldogs after failing to recover, ending with a final game score of 31-17.
The University of Tennessee takes the spot previously held by Ole Miss in last week's AP Poll., where Tennessee ranked No. 6. Notre Dame now takes the No. 6 spot. with Georgia moving from No. 11 to No. 8.
Nine teams now sit in front of UT in the rankings. Oregon, Ohio State, Texas, Penn State, Indiana, Notre Dame, Alabama, Georgia and Ole Miss take the lead in that order, with Oregon maintaining the number one spot.
Tennessee will take on the University of Texas at El Paso next weekend for their final home game of the season. Kickoff begins at 1 p.m. in Neyland Stadium.
