ATHENS, Ga. — The Vols were off to a hot start in Athens, the defense forced a three-and-out on Georgia's first drive of the game.
The offense capitalized on the defense's big stop. Tight end Miles Kitselman put the Vols on the board with a rushing touchdown, as he dove over the pile, to give Tennessee a 7-0 lead.
In Tennessee's second drive of the game, Max Gilbert nailed a 52-yarder to give the Vols a 10-0 lead.
Georgia had an answer in the first half, scoring back-to-back touchdowns to take a 14-0 lead.
Tennessee running back Dylan Sampson found the endzone in the second quarter, on a 27-yard run, to put the Vols back in the lead 17-14.
Georgia took the lead in the third quarter after scoring a touchdown against Tennessee. The team maintained that lead scoring another touchdown in the fourth quarter, pulling ahead with a score 30-17.
In the end, the Vols failed to recover and lost to the Bulldogs with a final game score of 31-17.
