KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — University of Notre Dame tight end transfer Holden Staes committed to Tennessee for the 2024 season on Friday night.
Staes is the first pledge out of the portal for the Vols this go around.
The 6'4, 242-pound sophomore caught 15 passes for 176 yards and four touchdowns this season for the Irish.
Tennessee was looking to fill tight-end gaps with McCallen Castles and Jacob Warren both out of eligibility, so pursuing Staes was key.
Staes is ranked as the No. 15 transfer and the No. 1 tight end transfer in the country according to 247Sports transfer rankings.
