KNOXVILLE, Tenn — Tennessee center Cooper Mays said in a podcast he does through an NIL partnership on Friday that he will not participate in Senior Day festivities before the Vols' final game of the regular season against Vanderbilt.
"I'm not doing Senior Day," Mays said on the "Off the Hook" podcast.
Typically when a player doesn't participate in the Senior Day celebration, it means they're coming back for another season. Mays has another year of eligibility.
However, Mays then said he was not sure if he was returning to Tennessee and that some things still needed to be sorted out.
The starting center has quite the decision to make between returning for one more year in hopes of improving his NFL Draft stock or declaring to go pro. His final decision will likely be announced in December.
Mays has started seven games this season after missing the first four. He underwent surgery prior to the season and missed games against Virginia, Austin-Peay, Florida and UTSA.
