HOOVER, Ala. — Tennessee Baseball beat Vanderbilt 6-4 in the SEC Tournament semifinal to make the title game on Saturday in Hoover, Alabama.

The Vols jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning.

Dylan Dreiling scored on a throwing error. Cannon Peebles brought in Hunter Ensley for a run on a flyout.

The Commodores tied the game on a home run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Braden Holcomb hit a two-run shot to left field.

UT retook the lead in the top of the sixth inning when Dalton Bargo, who started at third base as Billy Amick moved to designated hitter, scored a run on a flyout. Then Christian Moore hit a two-run home run to put the Vols up 5-2.

Peebles scored on a wild pitch in the top of the eighth inning to make it 6-2.

Vanderbilt was down 6-3 in the bottom of the ninth inning. They quickly got runners on second and third base with no outs. They scored one run on a flyout to trim the lead to 6-4, but that was their second out. Another flyout ended the game.

UT exacted some revenge as Vanderbilt beat the Vols 13-4 in Tennessee's first game of the tournament.

The Vols will play LSU at 3 p.m. on Sunday for the SEC Tournament championship. The Tigers won 12-11 on a walk-off two-run home run in a 100-inning game against South Carolina on Saturday.

The Vols swept LSU earlier this season at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Since then the Tigers have gone 18-5.

The Vols won the tournament title in 2022 and will go for their second title in three years.
