KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The matchup is set for the Knoxville Super Regional, and top-seeded Tennessee Baseball will take on Evansville starting on Friday, June 7, or Saturday, June 8.
The Purple Aces upset regional host East Carolina 6-5 on Monday afternoon to make it to the Super Regionals for the first time in program history. The Vols have never faced Evansville before at any point in program history.
Evansville is 38-24 this season so far, and made it to the NCAA Tournament as the automatic qualifier from the Missouri Valley Conference.
Evansville is the only regional four-seed to get to the Super Regionals this postseason, with all other four-seeds already eliminated.
The Vols are in the Super Regionals for the fourth straight year and will be looking for their second-straight College World Series appearance, and third in the last four years.
The full schedule for the Super Regionals is set to be announced on Tuesday, June 4.
