KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee Baseball will give Smokies Stadium a fitting send-off this November. The Tennessee Smokies announced UT will hold one of its Orange and White Fall World Series games in the stadium, dubbing it the "final baseball game in Smokies Stadium."
The Orange and White Fall World Series will take place at two minor league stadiums in November. The first game will be held in Chattanooga at AT&T Field at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, and the second game in Kodak will take place in Smokies Stadium at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8.
Gates at Smokies Stadium will open at 5 p.m., and tickets will start at $10 in the seating bowl. The Smokies said there will be a $25 all-you-can-eat buffet of hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, baked beans, potato chips, cookies, soda and water.
The Smokies said people should call the ticket office at (865) 286-2300 for tickets, suite reservations and questions.
The intrasquad series will be the final baseball game in the stadium before the Smokies move to Covenant Health Park, the new stadium in downtown Knoxville.
Tennessee Baseball is coming off of winning the College World Series following a record-setting season.
“The Tennessee Smokies and Boyd Sports are very excited and honored to host the Vols for their annual Orange & White Fall World Series,” said Boyd Sports President Chris Allen. “We look forward to seeing the current UT stars, as well as the new faces added to the team this summer.”
