'This is just the first of several to come' | Peyton Manning praises Tennessee baseball after national championship win

The Sheriff said the University of Tennessee is just getting started!

OMAHA, Nebraska — Legendary VFL Peyton Manning made sure he was in Omaha Monday night to soak in Tennessee baseball's first-ever national title.

"It's awesome. It's awesome—I don't know any other word to describe it," Manning said. "We've been knocking on the door these past several years and we've been close. Kinda had our heart ripped out, but you keep fighting, right?"

Manning praised head coach Tony Vitello and discussed how much he enjoys the friendship between them.

"I'm proud to be his friend. I'm proud that he's the Tennessee Volunteers head baseball coach," Manning said.

The Sheriff emphasized that the University of Tennessee is just getting started.

"Our whole school is doing so good. All our sports are doing good. I'm telling ya—this is just the first of several to come," Manning said. "Tony's just kind of started it off. I sat with coach Heupel and coach Barnes watching the game tonight. This is a great example of what our program is. What Danny White has done has been nothing but exceptional. There's several to come, I promise you."
