KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee Athletics announced Thursday that it is extending its contract with Lady Vols tennis coach Alison Ojeda after a stellar season.

Ojeda signed an extension that will keep her with the program until June 30, 2029, which will keep her with the program for an extra year compared to the previous extension she signed in 2023. This comes after the women's tennis program posted its best season since 2010 and ended with a rank of No. 12 nationally.

"Our women's tennis program has continued to show phenomenal growth under Alison's leadership," White said. "It's remarkable that in our history, we have been to two Final Fours – the first with Alison as a player and the most recent historic run last season as a coach - she really is the embodiment of a Lady Vol!"

Ojeda was named the 2024 National ITA Wilson Coach of the Year. She has helped lead the Lady Vols to top 25 finishes in six of the last seven full seasons and brought the team to the NCAA Team Championship every year under her watch -- excluding the shortened 2020 season during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I feel both honored and lucky to be working for such and an incredible chancellor and athletic director," Ojeda said. "My family, staff and program are so thankful to Donde Plowman, Danny White and Cam Walker for their unmatched support and for the continued opportunity to coach our Lady Volunteer tennis team. We take great pride in our program and make sure to do the best job we can at recruiting student-athletes who will represent the University of Tennessee well."

Under the terms of her contract extension, Ojeda will get a raise to her base salary. She will be paid $20,000 more yearly compared to her previous salary, bringing it up to $230,000 annually.

She also received a boost to her incentive pay depending on how well the Lady Vols performed in the postseason. Previously, she was paid a percentage of her salary depending on how well the tennis team performed.

Under the terms of the extension, she will receive fixed amounts of money depending on how far the Lady Vols go in the NCAA Tournament. At a minimum, she would receive $10,000 for an appearance in the tournament. Winning an NCAA championship would net her a maximum of $40,000 extra that season.
