HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Tennessee women's basketball lost to in-state foe Middle Tennessee for the first time ever in Wednesday night's neutral-site matchup at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Ala.
Lady Vol junior forward and Alabama native Karoline Striplin dropped a career-high and game-high 29 points, but it wasn't enough as the Blue Raiders snapped a 22-game losing streak in the series with a 73-62 victory.
Striplin made her first start of the season with Jillian Hollingshead out in concussion protocol and was the only Tennessee player with a double-digit scoring total in the loss.
MTSU junior guard Jalynn Gregory led the way for the Blue Raiders with 22 points including a five-for-nine effort from beyond the arc. She also added five rebounds and two steals in the win.
The Lady Vols have lost four of their last five and three games in a row as they look to get back in the win column when they return home to host Eastern Kentucky at the Food City Center on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m.
