KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee guard Dalton Knecht has broken the University of Tennessee record for most SEC Player of the Week honors in a single season.

On Monday he earned his fourth selection, which put him one head of three Vols who were tied for first with three selections. Grant Williams did so in the 2018-2019 season, Chris Lofton did it twice in the 2005-2006 season and 2006-2007 season. Finally, Dyron Nix got three in the 1988-1989 season.

Only five others have that many in a career. The names are Allan Houston, Chris Lofton, Dyron Nix, Jarnell Stokes and Grant Williams.

Knecht earned the honors for this week following a 39-point performance in a home win against Auburn and a 12-point and five-rebound performance against Alabama.
