KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee Baseball had a national championship riding on the line Monday night, and they didn't disappoint. The Vols won it!
Before the game, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee entered into a friendly bet over social media.
If the Vols won (and they did), Lee gets "some of the best BBQ in Texas" and a cold Lone Star beer.
If the Aggies had won, Tennessee would have had to fork over ribs (specifically Rendezvous ribs from Memphis), some Jack Daniel's whiskey, and tickets to Dollywood
Seems like an inequal bet to us. The Dollywood tickets alone were worth way more! But, it looks like Gov. Lee will bee getting some Texas beer and brisket!
"We're betting the TN classics," Lee said. "Let's go Vols!"
After the game, Gov. Lee congratulated the Vols on their historic win.
"Congrats to Coach Vitello & @Vol_Baseball on the National Championship win!" he said.
