KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — After Tennessee Baseball won in the College World Series, an 82-year-old Vols fan started dancing in the middle of the celebrations. His moves caught the eyes of thousands of people across Big Orange Nation.
"Everybody tells me I'm crazy, but I have fun being crazy," said Mack Orick, from East Tennessee. "I've seen some bad times. I've seen some great times, and I've loved it all."
He was dressed in Tennessee orange and checkerboard gear in the widely-shared video of home dancing. He said he dresses up for every game and said every game he attends is a dream come true.
"I didn't know there's anything else, just Rocky Top," he said. "Tennessee baseball players this year, they were, just, they seemed different."
His favorite color is orange, and he said it runs deep through his veins. He said he has been a Vols fan for as long as he can remember, including his time in the military. He even has a car painted in Tennessee orange. At 82 years old, he said he never imagined he would see a national championship, with his grandson nearby.
After the Vols' victory and he started dancing, he said his phone started ringing nonstop. He said family members told him he was on television.
He said it was great to spend time in the limelight, and said he has a message for all Vols fans.
"Just stay happy. Smile. Get out. Just, don't stay at home. Get out, enjoy yourself," he said.
