KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Christian Moore's outstanding performance against Kentucky this weekend not only earned him the prestigious title of SEC Player of the Week but also marked a special milestone in his career. For the first time, Moore has been recognized as Player of the Week by multiple outlets in the same week, including D1Baseball and Perfect Game.
Moore's impact on the game was undeniable. In each outing against the Wildcats, he delivered with at least one hit and one RBI. On Saturday and Sunday, he combined to go 8-11 with five runs scored, four home runs and eight RBIs. His consistent and powerful performance was a key factor in Tennessee's success.
His three long balls on Sunday tied the single-game record for most home runs scored in a game at Tennessee. Moore has 46 career home runs, moving him to first place on Tennessee's career home runs list. He and Blake Burke have been neck and neck since the beginning of April after Burke broke the initial record of 40 homers in a game against Auburn.
Moore's final home run of the series was a 3-run blast in the eighth inning, helping clinch the series win against No. 3 Kentucky.
Moore has led the team with 19 home runs so far this season, but in league play, he leads the SEC in hits (33), home runs (13), and RBIs (28).
