BRISTOL (WBIR) - This is Bristol, known for its speed and excitement.
But for a few, it's a piece of home.
"it's nice to be able to come home when I can and Bristol creates that opportunity," said Knoxville's Trevor Bayne.
For guys like Bayne, Front Row Motorsports owner and Dandridge native Bob Jenkins, Bristol is home.
"This place is awesome," said Darian Grubb, Carl Edwards' crew chief. "It still gives me the goose bumps every time they do the national anthem."
Grubb has good memories of the area.
"I just remember everything being orange," he said. "My grandfather was a huge Volunteer fan."
Grubb's grandparents lived in Knoxville, so he's been through the Tri-Cities a few times.
"I love coming here," he said. "We used to drive by here going from virginia going to see my grandparents. It feel like a halfway home for us when we come back through here. We used to race in Kingsport here locally too, so it's really close."
This is Grubb's first season with Carl Edwards, but it helps to have the defending champ in the driver's seat going in to a race.
"We had a win here with Denny in 2012 and he won here last year," Grubb said, "so we know both the team and the driver can get it done so we just have to make sure we put everything together to be in the right spot."
