University of Tennessee head women's basketball coach Holly Warlick announced Friday morning in a news release that Lady Vol Anastasia Hayes was dismissed from the team.
The sophomore guard was a big contributor during her freshman season, averaging 9.1 points per game and being named the SEC Sixth Woman of the Year.
She was UT’s first player off the bench on 26 occasions and scored in double figures 18 times during her freshman season.
“Anastasia Hayes has been dismissed from the Tennessee women’s basketball team due to a violation of team rules," Warlick said in the statement.
This is a developing story. 10News will update it as we receive new information.
