KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee baseball players Robin Villeneuve, Bradke Lohry and Derek Schaefer entered the transfer portal on Monday afternoon sources told WBIR. The portal will close on July 2nd.

All three Vols played more prominent roles earlier in the season but much less once SEC play began in 2024.

Villeneuve started the season on a high note, playing a significant role on offense. However, as the season progressed, other players became more effective at the plate.

The junior finished the season hitting .288 with five home runs, two of which he hit in Tennessee's first six games. Out of 80 at-bats, Villeneuve struck out 38 times. He recorded 22 RBIs but didn't have one in any of the Vol's last 16 games.

Schaefer pitched a 9.35 ERA in 8⅔ innings and saw action in Tennessee's opening-season tournament. He only threw one inning in SEC play against Georgia, allowing five runs and five hits.

Lohry hit .241 in 29 at-bats from the plate with 14 strikeouts and ten walks. The infielder started the season playing second base, with Christian Moore at shortstop. However, Hunter Ensely was ruled the best fit at the shortstop position, moving Moore to starting second baseman for most of the season.
