Hearing to be held for Prince's estate

A hearing will be held on Monday to begin the process of determining what to do about Prince's estate.

Prince Rogers Nelson died suddenly, at 57, at his Paisley Parkcompound outside Minneapolis on April 21.

The cause of death has not been released, pending further testing. Since then, his estate, including property and his music catalog, including unreleased material, has been estimated to be worth about $300 million.

Haslam starts Asia economic development trip Monday

Gov. Bill Haslam will travel to Asia this week in an effort to increase foreign investment opportunities.

Gov. Bill Haslam announced a number of initiatives Monday night in his annual State of the State budget.

The 10-day trip, scheduled to begin on Monday, will include stops in Korea, China and Japan.

During the trip, Haslam will be joined by Economic Development Commissioner Randy Boyd and the two will meet with executives of existing business partners and work to expand the state's relationship with Asian businesses.

DCS expects to answer Mountain View questions

The Department of Children's Services is expected to discuss recent issues at the Mountain View Youth Development Center on Monday.

DCS announced Friday it fired the center's superintendent.

Tommy Francis served as superintendent for just three months.

New KAT trolley routes to begin Monday

New Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) trolley routes in downtown Knoxville are set to begin Monday.

There will be three routes: the Orange, Blue, and Green lines.

According to a KAT release, the routes will replace the current system, and the change comes after extensive public meetings.

Second Harvest Food Bank hopes to raise $120K

Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee is hosting its third annual May Day fundraiser.

Volunteers at Monday’s telethon are hoping to raise $120,000 to help feed more than 4,000 children in need this summer.

There are a number of ways to donate.
