Waiting in line at driver's services centers can drive almost anyone crazy. So, the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security is trying to speed up the wait.
Its Driver Services Divison launched a program on Thursday that would allow people to book appointments online at driver's services centers, instead of having to wait in line.
Customers will be able to schedule appointments to renew driver's licenses, take a driver's license practice test, advance a GDL license and for almost any other regular service.
E-tickets are also available for people who need REAL ID services. They are only available at Gallatin, Hart Lane, Oakland and Maryville centers starting Friday.
They can be requested between 9 a.m and 3 p.m. After requesting a ticket, customers will be placed in a virtual line and will have two hours to arrive at the center.
