Parents of missing Sumner County teen are hopeful after FBI announces $50,000 reward

Sebastian Rogers was first reported missing on Feb. 26.
Sunday marked three months since Sebastian Rogers was last seen at his home in Hendersonville.

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. — Monday, Aug. 26, marks six months since 15-year-old Sebastian Rogers from Sumner County was last seen. Rogers was first reported missing on Feb. 26.

Since his disappearance, countless search efforts have been launched by multiple agencies in Sumner County.

On Monday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation Memphis Field Office, Nashville Resident Agency offered a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the location and return of Rogers or the arrest and conviction of those responsible for his disappearance.

Chris and Katie Proudfoot, Rogers' mother and stepfather, spoke with WSMV4 Nashville after learning about the FBI's reward.

The Proudfoots were thankful for the FBI’s efforts in putting up the reward and hoped the money would encourage someone with key information to come forward.

“We pray that with this reward, it will bring some useful tips and/or leads that result in the safe return of Sebastian to his home in Hendersonville,” they said.

Chris and Katie also acknowledged the continued efforts by everyone to find Sebastian.

“We would also like to say thank you to Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, TBI, and the supportive public for the continuous efforts being made to bring Sebastian home safe and sound,” they said. “Your tireless efforts are acknowledged and greatly appreciated.”

Despite many theories regarding who is responsible for his disappearance, the investigating agencies have repeatedly said that nothing has been discovered that leads them to suspect foul play.

His biological father, Seth Rogers held a benefit for his son on Saturday, August 24 at the Fallen Brewery in Clarksville, and a prayer vigil afterward. The proceeds from that benefit went to Mikaela’s Mutt Motel, a veteran-owned and operated dog rescue in Clarksville, to celebrate Sebastian’s love for animals.
