Two weeks from election day, political experts said young people can swing the race.

MARYVILLE, Tenn. — A voting precinct in Blount County had a minor issue with a controlling machine, causing ballot casting to halt for about 15 minutes.

Blount County Election Administrator Moe Click said a table collapsed and broke the controlling machine at the Montvale Elementary precinct in Maryville just before 3 p.m.

Click said the machine was replaced and voting resumed about 15 minutes later.

Thousands of people in Blount County have already cast their ballots. Election officers in the county say with such a high turnout during the early voting period, poll workers anticipated crowds on Election Day.

Polling places in East Tennessee close at 8 p.m.
