Election Results: All incumbents from East Tennessee projected to hold onto US House of Representatives seats

Republican incumbents Diana Harshbarger, Tim Burchett and Chuck Fleischmann were all racing to hold onto their seats.

WASHINGTON —

Background

Republican incumbent Diana Harshbarger is racing to hold onto her seat against Democratic challenger Kevin Jenkins. Harshbarger currently represents District 1 in the U.S. House of Representatives. That district mostly expands into upper East Tennessee, covering counties like Sullivan, Hawkins and Cocke counties.

Republican incumbent Tim Burchett is also facing Democratic challenger Jane George to represent District 2 in the House. That district covers Knox County as well as Blount County and part of Campbell County

Republican incumbent Chuck Fleischmann is also facing Democratic challenger Jack Allen for the District 3 seat. That district extends from Polk, Bradley and Monroe counties up to Anderson County and parts of Scott and Campbell counties.

In Cumberland, Fentress and Scott counties, Republican Incumbent John Rose will face off against his Independent challenger, Lore Bergman, in the race for District 6.

Results

The Associated Press projected Republican Representative Diana Harshbarger would hold onto her seat. A statement from her is below.

“I am truly humbled by the trust and confidence the people of East Tennessee have placed in me once again. We have important work ahead to protect our freedoms, support our families, and continue pushing back against government overreach. I look forward to returning to Washington to be the strong voice for faith, family, and conservative values that Tennessee deserves.

“Tonight, we are hopeful that President Trump will join us in victory. Our country needs his bold leadership and commitment to America First values. I am praying for a successful outcome for President Trump and am ready to work alongside him to make our nation stronger, safer, and more prosperous.”

The Associated Press projected Republican Congressman Tim Burchett would hold onto his District 2 seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The Associated Press projected Republican Chuck Fleischmann would hold onto his U.S. House of Representatives District 3 seat.

Fleishmann released a statement Tuesday night. It is available below.

"Thank you for trusting me once again and sending me back to Washington to be your voice. I am deeply honored and grateful to you for your continued trust and support. Bringing Tennessee values to Washington is the honor of a lifetime. I will never stop fighting for our freedoms, for secure borders, for safe communities, a strong economy, and for a stronger America. This victory reflects our shared commitment to tackling the issues that matter most to our community, and I am excited to continue this important work."

The Associated Press projected Republican John Rose would hold onto his U.S. House of Representatives District 6 seat.
