Before You Vote: Early voting kicks off in East Tennessee elections

On Aug. 1, voters will cast their ballots in county general elections across East Tennessee. They will also vote in the state and federal primaries.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Before You Vote is an ongoing project by 10News to promote and inspire your participation in the democratic process. Be a good citizen! Take time to vote!

It's election season once again in East Tennessee. Early voting started on July 12 and will run through July 27. Voters are expected to return to the ballot box and cast their votes in elections that will determine who will serve in many positions of local government.

Voters will also decide who they want to see run in some upcoming state and federal elections. The state and federal primary elections will choose who will appear as candidates in the November general elections.
