DANDRIDGE, Tenn — Tennessee State Troopers were investigating Sunday after a pedestrian was hit and killed on I-40 East near Deep Springs Road in Jefferson County.
Investigators said the victim, Tony Lee Ford, 45, from Virginia, was hit by a Volvo tractor-trailer at around 12:30 a.m.
A Tennessee Highway Patrol report said a Ford crossed from the right shoulder of the interstate into the second lane.
The driver of the truck was not able to stop, and hit Ford, according to the report.
Troopers said the driver of the truck would not be charged.
