OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — The historic Grove Theatre in Oak Ridge hosted a dance recital for Gigi's Dance Academy, but it wasn't your usual recital.
Seven-year-old Ansley Bottoms hasn't seen her dad, Michael Bottoms, in a year, while he was deployed overseas in Poland.
On Sunday, May 26, she got the surprise of her life after her dancing finished.
Her dad was waiting behind the curtains and enjoyed the recital before coming out to surprise her.
"I'm just happy to be home because you have to sacrifice being with your family so others can be with their families so it's great to be home with them," Michael said.
He came home on Saturday and waiting until Sunday night to make his surprise entrance.
