Walters State president runs in Boston Marathon

Tony Miksa said it took seven years and 11 marathons to qualify.

BOSTON — The Walters State Community College President, Tony Miksa, ran in the 127th Boston Marathon. 

Miksa was one of 30,000 running the famous marathon on Monday. 

The Boston Marathon is the world's oldest annually contested marathon. The 26.2-mile course is considered the granddaddy of marathon running events. 

In order to qualify for the marathon, you must meet certain time standards. 

"It took about 7 years and 11 marathons to qualify," Miska said in a tweet. "Never give up on your dream!"
