KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Jamie Crawford and her daughter sat UT Medical Center on Wednesday to visit with her newborn babies.
"It's been amazing, they came out breathing on their own, they didn't even need any extra oxygen," Crawford said
She said she found out she was pregnant on June 27, 2017 and five weeks later she learned she was having quadruplets.
"No one could believe it and I was so nervous," she said.
Five more weeks passed and Crawford and her family got some difficult news from her doctors.
"They told us that one of the babies wasn't going to make it," she said. "It was rough in the beginning but we kept going."
In January, Crawford gave birth although her due date wasn't until March.
"I went into labor, three of them survived but one of them passed away," Crawford said.
Crawford said it was the kind of experience that would be difficult for anyone.
"It's hard but I'm trying to hold it together for all of my kids," she said.
Almost two weeks later Crawford and her family work to get to the hospital as much as they can. They live in Morristown.
"It's a lot of back and forth but I want to be here to make sure they are okay," she said.
Her oldest daughter, Madyson makes an effort to go as much as possible too.
"I love babies and I can't wait to see them grow and tell them what to do," she said.
Although the babies were born a bit early, Crawford said she's hopeful they will be home soon.
"They are already gaining weight so I'm hoping to bring them home in the next two to three weeks."
