Arraignment delayed for Megan Boswell, mother of baby Evelyn

Megan Boswell would be arraigned Friday morning, on a Grand Jury indictment for false reporting, according to the Sullivan County Criminal Court Clerk.

SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. — The arraignment for Megan Boswell on false reporting charges was delayed on Friday because the case has not yet been presented to a grand jury.

Boswell's daughter, 15-month-old Evelyn Boswell, was missing for months before she was found dead on a relative's property. Investigators said Boswell hampered the investigation by changing her story about what happened to her daughter multiple times.

In a court hearing held on Zoom, prosecutor Teresa Nelson told the judge that she had not yet presented the case to a grand jury because she had not finished reviewing all of the evidence in the case.

Nelson said there were more than 25 hours of video interviews with Boswell to review.

The judge agreed to push the arraignment to June 19.

At the defense attorney's request, he also set a bond hearing for May 28.

Boswell appeared at the hearing via video but did not speak until she thanked the judge after he dismissed the court.
