The Knoxville man who punched another young man several times in the head during a 2014 confrontation at the Cumberland Avenue Cook Out will serve time behind bars.
Steven Wilson, 21, got a six-year sentence Friday after pleading guilty to aggravated assault in February in Knox County Criminal Court.
Wilson sought probation but was turned down.
Wilson assaulted a young man in February 2014 in a filmed attack at the restaurant that circulated widely on the Internet and on social media.
Wilson has a history of violence. In May 2012, he slapped and punched a female Fulton High School classmate while at Market Square on a school outing.
According to a warrant, he told her that because they were no longer at school, he could "kick your ...... ..." He had harassed and bullied her before the assault, according to court records.
He was placed on diversion for that case in October 2012, records show.
