Loudon County Sheriff's Office welcomes new K-9, Kora

The Loudon County Sheriff's Office introduced one of its newest employees on Facebook, Kora the K-9.

The Loudon County Sheriff's Office welcomed one of its newest employees who traveled thousands of miles to call Tennessee home.

LCSO says Kora the K-9 won't be wearing a traditional uniform or understand English very well. That's because she used to live in Holland! However, she was able to travel and complete her basic training in Miami, Florida before moving to Lenoir City, according to a release from the Loudon County Sheriff's Office.

Kora will be working with her new handler Deputy Chance Gray for the next few weeks. The Loudon County Sheriff's Office said Kora and Gray will begin training with a handlers course which will focus on establishing a bond between the two.

"We've already begun establishing a bond," Gray said in the release. "Although she's not available for deployment until after our handlers school, she is going to work with me, getting used to the patrol car, learning that I am going to be her best friend and her best partner."

Kora will also learn about narcotics detection as she continues her training at the Loudon County Sheriff's Office.
