Zoo Knoxville to host 'Boo! at the Zoo' for 12 nights in October

According to the Zoo, this is Knoxville's largest Halloween event featuring several nights of not-too-scary fun perfect for preschool and elementary-aged children.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Zoo Knoxville is once again hosting its annual "Boo! at the Zoo," starting at $15 per person and taking place for 12 nights. 

According to the Zoo, this is Knoxville's largest Halloween event featuring several nights of not-too-scary fun perfect for preschool and elementary-aged children. The event is returning for its 38th year, featuring a 21-station Treat Trail throughout the zoo.  

"A Halloween tradition, BOO! at the Zoo is a family event featuring trick-or-treating along the BOO! Trail, where little trick-or-treaters can fill their bag with goodies as they make their way through the zoo," the zoo said. 

General admission tickets begin at $15 a person, zoo members can get in at $14 a person and ages two and under will be able to get in for free. The event will take place Oct. 10 through 13, Oct. 17 through 20 and Oct. 24 through 27. 

According to the zoo, there will be special character nights, including popular princess appearances on Oct 11, 18 and 27. There will also be Star Wars characters on Oct. 12 and 26 and Ghostbusters on Oct. 10, 12, 13 and 17. 

"Additional activities include the Soaring Eagle zipline and the BOO! Choo Train, both weather-permitting," the zoo said. "Visitors can also enjoy seasonal treats from zoo restaurants and concessions, with exclusive menu items available during the event."

The Halloween event will run from 5:30 p.m. EDT until 8 p.m. each night. Tickets can be purchased on Zoo Knoxville's website.
