PFPD: Woman taken to hospital for injuries after tree falls on camper during storms

The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning for Sevier County Sunday evening.

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. — A woman was rescued by the Pigeon Forge Police Department and the Pigeon Forge Fire Department after a tree fell onto a camper, according to police.

At around 9:38 p.m., PFPD and PFFD responded to Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts on reports of a tree falling on a camper. Police said after arriving on the scene, they transported a woman to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for injuries.

The woman has broken ribs, an injured knee and a laceration to her head. Children were in the camper but weren't hurt. 

The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning for Sevier County Sunday evening. The warning lasted for a few hours.

The weather affected several roads were affected during the storms, including McCarter Hollow Road near the entrance to Dollywood.
