As some look forward to the first snow to transform East Tennessee into a winter wonderland, others are dreading the possibility of a Nor'easter nightmare causing havoc on the roads.
Winter officially kicks off on Wednesday, December 21 at 5:44 a.m., but it's already feeling like it's arrived.
East Tennessee has already seen sleet and snow dustings in the higher elevations. With roads still saturated from storms that passed through early Sunday morning -- dangerous black ice is expected to form on the roads Sunday night and Monday morning when temperatures dip below freezing.

With this in mind, it's that time of the year to brush up on winter driving techniques, stock up on basic winter supplies and prepare for the worst the season has to offer ahead of time.
