Newly released satellite images shows the impact of the Gatlinburg fire from space.

A quickly spreading fire forced more than 14,000 people to evacuate Monday night into early Tuesday morning.
As of Friday morning, officials say more than 1,000 structures were damaged or destroyed in Gatlinburg and the surrounding area. There have been 13 confirmed deaths so far.
The before and after photos highlight a resort area, homes, downtown Gatlinburg and an overview of the area.
The shots from the resort and homes area are the most devastating as its clear the fire destroyed many of the structures.
