The White Pine Police Department said a man died Friday night after he was hit by a tractor-trailer, which then drove off.

WHITE PINE, Tenn. — UPDATE (1/13): The White Pine Police Department has identified the truck driver who they say was run over by a tractor-trailer in the Pilot Travel Center parking lot Friday night.

The driver was identified as Gary Clark, 64, of Prattville, Alabama. According to police, Clark parked his tractor-trailer in the trucking parking lot in the rear of Pilot. He left his truck and was walking toward the travel center near the fuel island when another tractor-trailer traveling through the parking lot struck him.

The truck driver then parked his truck at the fuel island and went into the store for approximately 20 minutes, police said. When he went back to his truck, he was told by other drivers that he may have possibly run over Clark. He then got back into his truck and drove away.

White Pine police said the investigation is still active and are asking to keep Clark's family and his company in your prayers.
