<Knox Heritage has launched a new campaign to help preserve the history and restore thehistoric Westwood house.The Victorian-style home on Kingston Pike in West Knoxville was built in 1890. Already, Knox Heritage has raised $1 million dollars of its 3 million dollar goal to renovate the property. <a href="http://www.knoxheritage.org/" target="_blank">It's asking for the public's help to get the rest of the funding. </a>Knox Heritage gave its last tours of the home on Tuesday, and officially closed it for renovations."There will be a lot of site work in order to make the place accessible to the public and handicapped accessible, and then there will be a complete restoration of the house. It's an amazing place right now and once we shine it up and get all the latest modern systems in it it will be a great place for another generation,"said Knox Heritage's Kim Trent.Knox Heritage says construction will start in September. The home should reopen in the spring.<
