Motorcyclist dead after truck pulls out in front of him; truck driver facing multiple charges, PFPD says

The driver was charged with driving under the influence, implied consent, vehicular homicide and failure to yield, according to police.

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. — A motorcyclist is dead after a truck pulled out in front of him Tuesday evening, according to a report from the Pigeon Forge Police Department.

Police responded to Wears Valley Road at the intersection of Lona Drive at around 9:30 p.m. After arriving on the scene, PFPD determined that a truck had pulled out in front of a motorcycle causing the crash.

The motorcyclist, 59-year-old Clark Franklin, was pronounced dead at the scene, PFPD said. 

The driver of the truck, 48-year-old Dennis Grooms Jr, was charged with driving under the influence, implied consent, vehicular homicide and failure to yield, according to police.
