Zoo Knoxville is officially on baby gorilla watch!
Gorilla keeper Crystal Mugan says Kowali could give birth anytime in the next several weeks.
The zoo announced in February that a third baby gorilla was on the way. Kowali has already given birth to five babies.

Mugen says Kowali has been sweating a lot lately and not eating like normal, which are all signs a new baby could be here soon.
Mugen and the rest of the zoo staff are excited to see how Obi and Ubuntu, the two baby gorillas born at the zoo last year, will react with the new family member. Their mothers are Hope and Machi. All three gorilla babies have the same father--- Bantu.
Last summer, the keepers did not interfere with the birth of Obi and Ubuntu, and Mugen says that's the plan this time.
Kowali has not cooperated with ultrasounds, so the gender of the new gorilla will be a surprise and may not be known for a few weeks after birth.
