KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — As Fall approaches, University of Tennessee football isn't the only thing kicking off the season, it's also an ideal time for weddings in East Tennesee.
"Basically, anytime somebody is planning a fall wedding, that's gonna be a subject, probably," said Farrah Williams-Deck, Owner of Colonial Estate Weddings and Events.
She said the climate and scenery in the fall months make it the perfect time for weddings.
"The most beautiful time in Tennessee is probably late October, early November," said Williams-Deck. "That's when you want the color change and the comfortable weather."
This leaves many couples having to navigate around football season.
"If you're a Vol fan, the first thing you're looking at is the Vol schedule," said Anthony Cespedes, Officiant for Rocky Top Weddings. "You want to go for the away games or the bye weekends."
Some couples choose to incorporate the vols into their special day.
"I've been to one wedding where we had two TVs in the reception area," said Cespedes. "After we said the 'I-dos,' all of us just went and took pictures and then went and watched Tennessee beat whoever they were playing."
Bringing the Vol spirit to their special day is something couples in Tennessee have perfected.
"I love to see the enthusiasm that people have for supporting the teams, you know, that they love," said Williams-Deck. "We see a lot of that here in Tennessee. I don't think that you can beat it."
