'Barxville, a Knoxville Dogumentary' | Visit Knoxville makes film showcasing dog-friendly amenities in Knoxville

The film explores the city through the eyes of a dog, bringing his fellow humans to some of the city's most dog-friendly spots.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Visit Knoxville is releasing a new film showcasing the city through the eyes of one of its cutest residents — a Golden Retriever.

The approximately nine-minute film is named "Welcome to Barxville, A Knoxville Dogumentary," and follows Hank, a golden retriever, as he visits Knoxville for the first time. The trailer showcases different spots across the city from his "pupspective."

He travels to Market Square and sees the city's tallest buildings along Gay Street, while also visiting a coffee shop. He also visits the Sunsphere before walking along a hiking trail.

Visit Knoxville said the locations in the film include World's Fair Park, Market Square, K Brew, the Urban Wilderness, Meads Quarry, the Knoxville Adventure Collective, Calhoun's on the River and Pretentious Glass Co. Hank also goes on a journey to find statues of Smokey, meeting another dog representative of East Tennessee.

Visit Knoxville said the locations are all dog-friendly, and people in the city can also bring their four-legged friends to areas like the Knoxville Visitor's Center, Union Avenue Books and Suttree Landing Park.

"I'm Hank, and on a recent visit here I determined rather quickly that Knoxville is one giant playground; a place that has gone to the dogs — in the best way possible," said a flyer from Visit Knoxville.
