UT Paintball Club invites students and community members to upcoming field days

The UT Paintball Club said it finished sixth in the National Collegiate Paintball Association's rankings last year.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Last season, the University of Tennessee Paintball Club said it found success and ended the season in sixth place among other teams in the National Collegiate Paintball Association. This year, the club hopes to continue the trend.

The team practices on a private field — one of three teams across the U.S. that has access to its own private practice facilities and field. The field is on the UT Organic Crops Unit, a 92-acre tract mostly used to support agricultural research.

The team said it also hosts field days to engage with the community and show people the mechanics and strategies behind playing paintball. At an upcoming field day on Sept. 8, all interested students and community members are invited to show up and have some fun. It starts at 11 a.m. and people will need to pay an entry fee and sign a waiver to participate.

"We open up our field as students as a way to just try something new, find a new team atmosphere and just find some new people to hang out with," said one member of the team.

The specific address of the field is 7315 Government Farm Road, according to the team.
