KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The University of Tennessee said Thursday that crews temporarily moved a statue of General Neyland from the front of Neyland Stadium to a temporary place in Doug Dickey Hall of Fame Plaza, at the north entrance of the Neyland-Thompson Sports Center.
The university said the statue was moved due to ongoing construction at Neyland Stadium. It said that the statue would be returned to the front of the stadium when construction was complete. However, it may not be in the exact same place.
A spokesperson said the statue would be moved to a location that is more accessible for fans. However, specific information about where that is located was not immediately available.
