The last four seconds of Saturday's game against Georgia was a nail-biter for every Vol fan including UT freshman Pierce Anderson.
"Me and my roommate almost covered our eyes during that last pass because we didn't think we could watch it and when we saw Jennings come down with that catch we couldn't believe it," Anderson shared.
It was such an unbelievable end, Pierce decided to do the homework and put the play to the test
"My first thought was just like making a trajectory diagram of Josh Dobbs throwing that pass," the engineering major said.
It took about 10 minutes for Anderson to make a diagram showing the pass and figure out the velocity of the perfect pass.
"When I was doing it, I was just still so excited and thrilled that we won," he shared. "I plugged it into my calculator and came out with 79.6 feet per second and that's the velocity."
Pierce, being the good student he is, triple checked his math before he tweeted Josh Dobbs his winning equation.
"I made sure to check my work like 40 times so to make sure that if I tweeted this out it wouldn't be incorrect," Anderson added.
Well Dobbs, who is also in the engineering program, retweeted Anderson.

"I didn't expect anything like that to happen. I didn't' expect him to reply to it, that was awesome," the freshman said.
Comparing the math to the actual play, Anderson is convinced it was a one in a million catch.
"I didn't even factor in all the defenders that they had to slip through but if the ball was thrown just a little with less power or more power it would have sailed over him or it would have been too low and the Georgia defenders would have gotten it so it's honestly incredible that the catch was made. Fantastic play by Dobbs and Jennings. Just insane," he said.
