After hosting cyclists and fans from all across the country for the USA Cycling Pro Time Trial and Road National Championships this weekend, Knoxville is poised to host additional pro cycling races in the next two years.
Visit Knoxville signed a three-year contract to stage races for USA Cycling beginning in 2017.
Visit Knoxville President Kim Bumpas said the group considers this first round a success, and are beginning to plan for next year's events.
In 2018, Knoxville will put on a time trial and a pro race of some kind with the racing association.
Bumpas said it’s possible more events could be added next year, considering how successful this year proved.
